Blog Candy!!!

I know this blog is still very young compared to many other blog artists out there, but I want to celebrate my successes and reward my subscribers and fellow artists with some blog candy!! I'm getting close to 1000 hits on my blog, and I'm hoping that is a sign that I'm inspiring some people out there. Over the last few months I've gained quite a few subscribers, but I really don't know many of you. I'd like to get to know you a little bit, so here's the challenge. Comment on this post and tell me what your favorite technique is. Also, any comments on this blog would be greatly appreciated so that I can improve (what do you like/not like, what would you like to see on this blog, etc.).

Those of you who know me understand that I am a "Ribbon Freak"! I just love to collect ribbons. Recently I acquired a lot of ribbons from a local store that was closing and I'd like to share some of them for blog candy. The winner will receive over 20 2-ft strips of ribbon including a sampling of each color of the flower printed Rik Rak that I recently have been using in my scrapbooking classes, some SU! ribbon, May Arts, and others. A winner will be drawn randomly from all the entries on Tuesday June 26th. One entry per person please. Good Luck, and thanks for reading my blog!

Hmmmm. My favorite technique? I'd have to say heat embossing. I'm probably in the minority, but I love the subtle texture a little embossing can give a project! ps. I LOVE that printed ric rac. I'll have to go shopping for some!

Hi! I'm glad you posted at SCS about your blog. I really enjoy looking at new ones (to me), and have found some real favorites. I'm excited to check out yours, as a fellow ribbon freak. :) My favorite technique...probably dry embossing (by hand) or hand stitching...there are many techniques I haven't tried yet, though. I'm off to check out your blog and leave some comments. :)

My favorite technique would have to be heat embossing. You can do so much with it. I'm so glad that you posted a link to your blog. I love checking out the different ones. You have some really nice cards. I am going to go check it out some more and leave comments.

I heat emboss almost every thing I stamp, but have just started using the alcohol inks & love the effect. I've never seen that printed rick rack before! I like your style.

Hello! This is my first time to your blog, but it won't be my last! I love the card you made for Beate's sketch. I was going to try it, but I didn't know where to even start! My fav. technique right now is inking the edges of cardstock. It just gives it a better look I think. Thanks!

I've been distressing a LOT lately. And I do love Cuttelbugged papers for backgrounds. :-)

Hi there, great blog. My favorite technique right now is emboss resist.

Okay, I think my favorite technique is called paper piecing. I am not real good with using the correct terminology. I also like embossing with my Cuttlebug. Thanks for the chance to win some new cool ribbon. I can always use that.

Hi Gretchen,
Congrats on reaching 1000! I think the number will grow quickly.
I love learning and reading about techniques, so I'm always trying different things. Lately, because I LOVE my Cuttlebug and it's gorgeous embossing, I am "cuttlebugging" everything!
I am also "crazy for ribbon", so I can relate to your freakiness!

I'd love to see more techniques and how-to's on your blog. Sometimes what one person does automatically can be a great revelation to someone who doesn't know!!

Hmmmm, a favourite technique... hmmmmm I don't do a lot of different techniques... I keep things pretty simple. For right now I'll say using my Cuttlebug and the embossing folders

I think your blog is great! I don't have a blog, I am still learning things myself, so that is the main reason I love blogs, they are full of ideas.
I don't know if you would consider this a technique, but I love my cuddlebug and the neat embossing papers I get from using it.

Hi, I was sent over by Allison - always good to see a new blog. I'll be back to visit. Thanks for the chance to win some ribbon candy. That's very generous! I'd have to say my favorite technique would be heat embossing with metallic powders - just beautiful, especially on brown or black!

Congratuations on the success of your blog! I love anything that creates a watercolor look. My favorite tool for coloring is my waterbrush and I use it with all mediums, pencils, crayons, reinkers, smooshing a Kalaidacolor pad onto a styrofoam plate and using those colors to work with. Love the inkwash or watercolor look. :)

I would have to say that my favourite technique is "popping pastels"... it's so easy and always looks great!

I LOVE ribbon...and those are fabulous!!
I have a hard time making a card without inking my edges, so I guess that's my favourite (or at least my most used!) technique. It just adds so much definition. Second would be paper piercing. Cheap and effective.
Thanks for the grand giveaway!

Congrats on 1000 hits!!! I'm like you, I love ribbon and have a hard time parting with it and I find a card looks incomplete without a little ribbon somewhere.

I would have to say my favorite technique is either crayon resist or kissing technique.

Congrats to you and your blog! I don't generally have time to actually use a technique on a card but I tried Crayon resist a few weeks back and really like how it looked!
As for your blog...do what makes you happy. This should be something that is fun for you and never a chore!

My favorite technique is using my embossing folder in my cuttlebug. It's so easy and fun. I really like a blog with lots of card ideas!

i like that you predominantly use SU stamps. i am not a demo, just addicted to the great products. i also like to see you still using old favorites (loads of love anyone?)mixed in with the new (doodles). if i have to pick a favorite technique, it would be heat embossing because i think it looks polished and professional.

Congrats on your hits. Great blog! I love all techniques that is really hard to pick just one..um..um..I guess I would say embossing, cuz it gives your projects texture. What sweet and yummy candy ribbon your are celebrating with. What stamper can't get enough ribbon. I bet you were in heaven getting all the ribbon. Thanks for sharing and thanks for a chance.

Ooooh! What pretty ribbons!

My favorite technique right now is piercing with the piercer mat pack. It adds just the right finishing touch to so many projects. Sometimes I'll faux stitch with the white gel pen or a marker. As far as your blog, I'd say just keep doing what you're doing! Congrats on the success so far.

Hello!

My favorite technique would be "normal stamping" LOL. Usually I try the fancier techniques once and then go back to just stamping, layering, embellishing, once in awhile I will watercolor an image if it needs it.

I love all your stamped projects - keep it up!

Cindy

I've been crazy for Stickles lately and add glitter galore to my projects - does that qualify as a technique? Otherwise my style is clean and simple. You have a fun blog.
