October Technique Class: Fun Folds

This month's focus is on unique card folds including the Triangle Trifold, Gate Cards, and Joy Fold Cards. This was fun for me because I rarely stray to a non-standard card fold or size. The first card below is a Joy Fold card, and also an example of the Emerging Color Technique.

Stamps: Winter Post
Inks: Versamark, Chocolate Chip
Papers: Ski Slope DSP, Chocolate Chip, Real Red
Accessories: Real Red Grosgrain ribbon, Large Brass Eyelet, Little Felt Flurries, Clear Embossing Powder
Notes: This uses the Emerging colors technique by versamarking and embossing clear on patterned paper, then applying chocolate chip ink over everything. The patterned paper shows through the reindeer. The Reindeer piece is a flap that opens to the right and is held in place by the snowflake. The instructions for the Joy Fold Card can be found at: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ee/index.php/resources/tutorials/joy_fold_card/

The next card is a trifold card called a Gate card, with two side flaps that open from the middle.

Stamps: Pocket Sillouettes
Inks: Not Quite Navy, Kiwi Kiss
Papers: Urban Garden DSP, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White,
Accessories: Nestabilities Scalloped Square, Paper Piercer, Boho Blossoms punch, Flower Fusion Too, Sanding block, Green Rhinestone brad
Notes: I sanded the edges of the DSP before adhering to the front flaps, and the Felt Flower holds the card closed. The Gate Fold card instructions can be found at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ee/index.php/resources/tutorials/gate_fold_card/

The last card is a Triangle Trifold card, and a fun little card for Halloween using the relatively new Halloween Designer Series paper called "Ghostly Greetings."

Stamps: Haunting Halloween
Inks: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Gray, Lovely Lilac,
Papers: Basic Black, Whisper White, Ghostly Greetings DSP
Accessories: Black Gingham ribbon, blender pen, Gelly Roll Stardust Gel pen,
Notes: You can't see it in the picture, but I added some sparkle with the Stardust pen on the necklace charms and the buckle. The instructions for a Triangle Trifold can be found at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ee/index.php/resources/tutorials/triangle_trifold/
